Commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Queen Mother, this portrait of four generations of royals was suggested by the artist himself, as a way of immortalising the royal family on the eve of a new millenium.

The ten portraits will go on display in an exhibition entitled 'Windrush: Portraits of a Pioneering Generation' at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh from 22nd June to mid-September 2023 and the National Portrait Gallery, London in October 2023 for approximately six months.
