Brunhilde is the eldest of the 13 Valkyrie sisters. She stood up against the Gods in an attempt to save Humanity. She is the ongoing main protagonist of the series as she is the one who chose Humanity's finest and strongest warriors in Ragnarok to stand up against the strongest Gods and slay them.
Ragnarok is mankind's final struggle against the gods. The event was described and explained in paragraph 15 of article No. 62 in the Super Special Clause of the Valhalla Constitution. It is a one-on-one showdown between the gods and mankind.

But before the decree is enacted, Brunhilde, one of the 13 Valkyries of Valhalla, interrupts the meeting to give mankind a chance at survival. Brunhilde proposes the idea of enacting Ragnarök, an event in which the strongest 13 mortal warriors fight against 13 gods in one-on-one matches.
