Arabella was a daughter of Sir Winston Churchill and sister of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough; her other brothers were George Churchill, Admiral of the Blue and General Charles Churchill.
Hace 5 días · Arabella Churchill. Admiral Churchill's sister Arabella was buried in the Abbey on 10th May 1730 but has no memorial or gravestone. She was a maid of honour to Anne Hyde, Duchess of York and became the mistress of James, Duke of York (who was later King James II). By him she had several children.
An older sister of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, she began her relationship with James, then Duke of York, around 1665, while he was still married to Anne Hyde. Arabella became the duchess's lady-in-waiting in that year, and gave birth to two children during Anne's lifetime.
There is information on only eight of Arabella’s siblings. John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough (1650 – 1722), married Sarah Jennings, had seven children; Winston Churchill (1652 – 1672), unmarried, died at the Battle of Solebay; George Churchill (1653 – 1710), unmarried, Admiral in the Royal Navy
He was closer to his sister Arabella (1648–1730), mistress of James II from 1665 to 1674 and mother of his eldest son, the Duke of Berwick (1670–1734). His will made a bequest to Francis Godfrey, another of Arabella's sons, and she was buried next to him in Westminster Abbey.

Arabella fue hija de sir Winston Churchill (un antepasado del Primer Ministro del mismo nombre) y de Elizabeth Drake. Era además hermana de John Churchill, I duque de Marlborough.
