Margrave Christian Ludwig of Brandenburg-Schwedt (14 May 1677 – 3 September 1734), a member of the House of Hohenzollern, was a Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt and a military officer of the Prussian Army.
The Brandenburg Concertos (BWV 1046–1051) by Johann Sebastian Bach are a collection of six instrumental works presented by Bach to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt, in 1721 (though probably composed earlier).

In March 1721, Bach sent the ‘six concertos for various instruments’, which we know by their epithet ‘Brandenburg’, to Christian Ludwig, the Margrave of Brandenburg, by way of an open job application. What an amazing calling card! Bach’s achievement here borders on the incredible.
