Regions of Denmark. The five Regions of Denmark ( Danish: regioner) were created as administrative entities at a level above the municipalities and below the central government in the public sector as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, when the 13 counties ( amter) were abolished.

La Región Capital (en danés: Hovedstaden) es una región administrativa de Dinamarca, establecida el 1 de enero de 2007 por la reforma municipal danesa, que sustituyó la anterior división administrativa en distritos ( amter) por cinco grandes regiones.
This is a list of the eleven Danish provinces and the regions they belong to. There are five regions (EU standard NUTS 2) and eleven provinces (EU standard NUTS 3 ). The provinces Copenhagen City and Copenhagen surroundings are largely build up areas, the same applies also for large parts of East Zealand and North Zealand.
Denmark is located southwest of Sweden and due south of Norway and is bordered by the German state (and former possession) Schleswig-Holstein to the south, with a 68 kilometres (42 miles) long land border. Denmark borders both the Baltic and North seas along its 8,750 km (5,440 mi) tidal shoreline.
