The first stage provides a foundation in the biomedical sciences and population sciences. It also provides the ability to integrate them with clinical practice.

  6. The clinical course leads to a degree of Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.) and Bachelor of Surgery (B.Chir.). For students who wish to pursue a career in academic medicine (M.B./Ph.D. programme), there is also the possibility of combining the clinical course described above with a Ph.D. Medicine at Cambridge.
