Midhope Castle, Lallybroch or Brach Tuarach, can be found on the wider Hopetoun Estate. This estate is brimming with recognisable Outlander locations and I’ll go more into that later!

  6. Used as Lallybroch (also known as Broch Tuarach), Midhope Castle is a 16th-century tower house located in Abercorn, just west of South Queensferry, on the Hopetoun estate. As we can see below, it is every bit as impressive in real life as Lallybroch, with the familiar approach and entrance to the building.

  7. Outlander fans might recognise this as ‘Lallybroch’, or Broch Tuarach, but it is in fact Midhope Castle. Built by John Martyne, the Laird of Midhope in the 15th Century and sits on some of the impressive 6,500 acres of land that the Hopetoun Estate covers.
