The history of Headingley Campus can be traced back to the Cistercian monks of Kirkstall Abbey in the mid-12th century, through to the landowner and Leeds banker William Beckett, before it became the City of Leeds Training College in 1913.
Leeds Beckett University (LBU), formerly known as Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU) and before that as Leeds Polytechnic, is a public university in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It has campuses in the city centre and Headingley. The university's origins can be traced to 1824, with the foundation of the Leeds Mechanics Institute.
Your learning will follow four strands of modern history: British, European, Wider World History, and Working with History. You will develop skills in enterprise, a global outlook and an excellent standard of digital literacy.
