Magdalen College School (MCS) is a private day school in the English public school tradition located in Oxford, England, for boys aged seven to eighteen and for girls in the sixth form (i.e. ages sixteen to eighteen). It was founded by William Waynflete about 1480 as part of Magdalen College, Oxford.

  5. The College School at Oxford differed from most medieval grammar schools in that it was, until 1987, a department of the college with no separate legal existence or endowment. The statutes provided for the perpetual maintenance of the school, under the guardianship of the College Visitor, the Bishop of Winchester.
