Harold Godwinson's defeat and death at Hastings were a disaster for his family, especially since the Anglo-Saxon magnates in London responded by electing as king not one of Harold's sons but Edgar Ætheling, a great-nephew of Edward the Confessor.
Its outcome would agree with the main thesis of an article by Tomasz Jurek, that Count of Wroclaw, Magnus, was a son of the Harold II Godwinson, King of England, who was killed in the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The genetic method will perhaps allow us to verify these hypotheses.
