Naumburg (German: [ˈnaʊmbʊɐ̯k] ⓘ) is a town in (and the administrative capital of) the district Burgenlandkreis, in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Central Germany. It has a population of around 33,000. The Naumburg Cathedral became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018.
Naumburg Cathedral is one of the most important cultural monuments of the European High Middle Ages, and its architecture, stained glass and sculptures are unique in the world. This was also confirmed by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in June 2018, which declared the cathedral a World Heritage Site.

Naumburg, city, Saxony-Anhalt Land (state), east-central Germany. It lies along the Saale River , near the mouth of the Unstrut River, southwest of Halle . Founded by the margraves of Meissen about the year 1000, Naumburg was granted to the bishop of Zeitz when he transferred his seat there in 1028.

Naumburg Cathedral, located in the south of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, is a unique testimony to medieval art and architecture. Most of the church building dates back to the 13th century. It is composed of a basilical Romanesque nave flanked by two Gothic choirs in the east and in the west.
