If you have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, you're guaranteed general admission. The exception to this is our limited-admission nursing program. If your GPA is below 3.0, we'll get to know you through a holistic application review process - a flexible, personalized review of your application and circumstances.

Admission Requirements Summary. Because Northern Illinois is moderately competitive, you have a strong chance of acceptance with the right GPA and test scores. If you have a 3.3 GPA, you have a very good likelihood of getting in. A 1060 on the SAT and 22 on the ACT will further lock in your application.
