It ties in nicely with the depletion/exhaustion mechanic above. - Influence, this is of course a rule specifically made for Plantagenet. But it could apply to so many other games.

As England loses the Hundred Years War, its noble houses amass power and wealth rivalling the King's own. Mounting tension over the Crown leads to armed clashes, under the excuse of freeing the King from evil counsellors, and finally ignites the Wars of the Roses.
