The Professional Children’s School was founded in 1914 by two reform-minded New Yorkers, Jane Harris Hall and Jean Greer Robinson. Ardent theatre-goers, the women learned of the plight of the city’s professional children – young people working in the theatre in New York or “on the road.”

Professional Children's School (PCS) is a not-for-profit, college preparatory school geared toward working and aspiring child actors and dancers in grades six through twelve. The school was founded in New York City in 1914 to provide an academic education to young people working on the New York stage, in Vaudeville , or "on the road".
Founded in 1914, Professional Children’s School provides a challenging and engaging college preparatory program for busy artists, athletes, and other young people who are serious about their studies. Since our founding, our students have had the option of distance learning.
