Fue diseñado por Sergio Pininfarina . También en 1956 se comenzó a fabricar el 250 GT Berlinetta, que triunfó varias veces en el Tour de Francia Automovilístico. Su potencia original era de 240 CV (237 HP; 177 kW), que aumentó a 260 CV (256 HP; 191 kW) en las últimas unidades.
Sergio Pininfarina (nacido como Sergio Farina el 8 de septiembre de 1926 en Turín, Italia - fallecido el 3 de julio de 2012) [1] [2] fue un famoso diseñador de automóviles, ingeniero y político italiano, vinculado a la empresa de su familia, la fábrica de carrocerías Pininfarina.
