  3. Launched February 21, 1931 as SS President Coolidge named in honor of 30th U.S. President Calvin Coolidge sponsored by his wife, Mrs. Calvin C. Coolidge. Completed and delivered October 1, 1931. As a luxury liner, the ship had a first class section for 305, tourist class of 133 and steerage class of 402 passengers.

  4. Launched on 21st February 1931 the SS President Coolidge was the largest passenger ship to be constructed in America (with her twin sister, the SS President Hoover) at that time. Built by Newport News Shipbuilding Drydock Company in Newport News, the Coolidge was 200m by 25m and had a gross displacement of 21,936 tons.

  5. The Coolidge is now regarded as the most accessible shipwreck in the world for divers, for a ship of its size and type. In fact due to its location, depth, accessibility and the visibility of the water it lies in, it was named one of the top ten dive spots in the world.
