Svealand (Swedish: [ˈsvêːaˌland] ⓘ), or Swealand, is the historical core region of Sweden. It is located in south central Sweden and is one of three historical lands of Sweden , bounded to the north by Norrland and to the south by Götaland .

Svealand is the smallest of Sweden’s three regions and lies between the regions of Götaland on the south and Norrland on the north. From the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Bothnia on the east, it stretches across the breadth of Sweden to the Norwegian frontier. Svealand is a region of fertile plains and wooded heights, great forests, and many lakes.
