This devotional site, known as The Blue Church, is visited by both Lutheran and Roman Catholic pilgrims. The Blue Church contains relics of Saint Bridget in a red-coloured casket as well as medieval sculptures of Saint Bridget, Saint Anne and the Blessed Virgin Mary and other medieval art.

Vadstena Abbey, also known as the Blue Church, is the shrine of the 14th century saint and mystic Birgitta of Sweden, who had a vision from Christ on which the Abbey was based.
An hour away from this monastery, the Vadstena Abbey, also known as the Blue Church, contains relics of the saint, and her body is venerated by Lutheran and Catholic believers. Bridget is remembered by the Church of England, which holds a commemoration on 23 July and on the Episcopal Church liturgical calendar on 7 October.
The Vadstena Church was a Cistercian monastery located in the municipality of Vadstena near Lake Vättern. Founded by St Bridget, the abbey was the seat of her Order. It was active between 1346 and 1595.
