Sophia Dorothea of Brunswick-Lüneburg-Celle (15 September 1666 – 13 November 1726) was the repudiated wife of future King George I of Great Britain.

Sofía Dorotea de Brunswick-Luneburgo, también conocida como Sofía de Celle (Celle, Hannover, 15 de septiembre de 1666 - 23 de noviembre de 1726), era la única hija sobreviviente de Jorge Guillermo, duque de Brunswick-Luneburgo y de Leonor Desmier de Olbreuse, condesa de Harburg y Wilhelmsburg.
A princess of the ruling house of Celle in what is now northern Germany, Sophia Dorothea was the only child of Duke George William of Celle and a French noblewoman, Eleanor Desmier .
3 de mar. de 2017 · Sophia Dorothea of Celle was born on 15 September 1666 as the daughter of George William, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and his mistress, Eleonore d’Esmier d’Olbreuse. Her parents officially married in 1676. On 22 November 1682, she married her cousin, George, Electoral Prince of Hanover, after reportedly shouting, “I will not marry the pig snout!”
