Its full name of CBGB & OMFUG stands for "Country, Bluegrass, Blues, and Other Music For Uplifting Gourmandizers". Although a gourmandizer is usually a ravenous eater of food, what Kristal meant was "a voracious eater of (…) music". [12]
Somehow they were disciplined musicians. Stiv Bators, Cheetah Chrome, Jimmy Zero and Johnny Blitz were their names. The were without a bass player at that time but it was soon to be Jeff Magnum. The lack or a bass player did not handicap them in the least. In 1998, Hilly Kristal, founder of CBGB, wrote a brief history of the club.

4 de abr. de 2024 · Y es que así de caprichosa es la vida, esa perra indisciplinada que a veces te empuja a trazar caminos sobre mapas que ni siquiera pretendías desplegar. Aunque en ocasiones es para bien y entonces todo parece cobrar sentido, incluso en medio de un maremoto de ruido, suciedad y caos que se refugia bajo las siglas CBGB & OMFUG.
