Star Letitia Wright was confirmed as the film's new lead after suffering an on-set injury during filming. Production started at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 29, 2021, under the working title Summer Break. Prior to Boseman's death, filming had been set to start in March 2021.
