Asher Brown Durand (21 de agosto de 1796 - 17 de septiembre de 1886) fue un pintor estadounidense de la Escuela del río Hudson. Durand nació en Jefferson Village (hoy Maplewood), Nueva Jersey. Era el décimo de once hijos. Su padre fue un relojero y orfebre. Vivió en lo que hoy se conoce como Casa Durand-Hedden, declarada sitio histórico.
