  2. Tras el revolucionario periodo de Mayo del 68, la Universidad de Estrasburgo decidió, en 1971, dividirse en tres universidades distintas: Strasbourg I ( Université Louis Pasteur) para las disciplinas científicas.

Los 37 departamentos de estudios de University of Strasbourg cubren 5 campos académicos principales: Artes, literatura e idiomas; Derecho, economía, gestión y ciencias políticas; Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales; ciencia y tecnologías; Salud.   4. Throughout its existence, Unistra alumni, faculty, or researchers have included 18 Nobel laureates, one Fields Medalist and a wide range of notable individuals in their respective fields. Among them are Goethe, statesman Robert Schuman, historian Marc Bloch and several chemists such as Louis Pasteur .

  5. Being one of the oldest faculties in Strasbourg, the Faculty of Medicine has a long and fascinating history. It has managed to reach international recognition through building strong ties with European faculties as well as Russian, American, Algerian, Madagascan, Brazilian and Chinese ones.

  6. On 1 January 2009, Louis Pasteur University became part of the refounded University of Strasbourg and lost its status as an independent university. The university was a member of the LERU (League of European Research Universities). It was named after the famous 19th-century French scientist Louis Pasteur.
