The Noguchi Museum (chartered as The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum) is a museum and sculpture garden at 32-37 Vernon Boulevard in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens in New York City, designed and created by the Japanese American sculptor Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988).
About The Noguchi Museum. Founded in 1985 by category-defying artist Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988), The Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum (now known as The Noguchi Museum), was the first museum in the United States to be established, designed, and installed by a living artist to show their own work.
The Noguchi Museum, located in Long Island City, Queens, is housed in a repurposed 1920s red brick industrial building, with an attached concrete pavilion designed and built in the 1980s by Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988) in collaboration with Shoji Sadao (1927–2019).
