Its borders are the greater petrosal nerve, mandibular nerve (V3), arcuate eminence and the superior petrosal sinus.

  3. 1 de ago. de 2022 · The posteromedial triangle (Figure 2), alternatively referred to as the Kawase triangle, the rhomboid space, or the Kawase-Shiobara triangle, was first described in 1977 by Kanzaki et al. and later, in 1985, by Kawase et al. 29, 30 However, it was not reported as an anatomical triangle at that time.

  4. The Kawase triangle is shown to be a safe anatomical landmark for anterior petrosectomy. The described landmarks avoid damage to the vital anatomical structures during access to the posterior fossa through middle fossa, despite temporal bone anatomical variations and different tumor sizes.
