MONSTERS OF ROCK®. CONCERTS. The Monsters of Rock festival debuted in 1980 at Castle Donington with heavy metal pioneers Rainbow, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Saxon and more. This kicked off a string of 15 plus years with such rock and roll giants including, AC/DC, Slayer, Guns N' Roses, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Def Leppard and Metallica.
