- Capítulo 1: La evaluación. La guerra es muy importante para el Estado y puede suponer la vida o la muerte. Por otro lado, el conflicto determina la conservación o la pérdida del Imperio.
- Capítulo 2: La iniciación de las acciones. Este capítulo advierte de la importancia de conocer las cantidades y el costo que va a suponer la campaña militar.
- Capítulo 3: Las posiciones de la victoria y la derrota. Es importante combatir los planes del enemigo y, ante todo, no permitir una alianza entre adversarios.
- Capítulo 4: La medida en la disposición de los medios. Es esencial tener la habilidad de asegurar la invencibilidad y conocer los defectos del enemigo para poder derrotarlo en su momento más débil.
El supremo Arte de la Guerra es someter al enemigo sin luchar. Las ideas de Sun Tzu se extendieron por el resto de Asia hasta llegar a Japón.
