Mike came in a close second (with 53.35%), and Tara was third (with 52.72%). All three finalists beat the record for most percentage lost in a season (a record that previously belonged to Erik Chopin from season 3 with 52.58%). Helen was the first finalist weighed, and Tara was last.

: Couples 2 is the seventh season of the NBC reality television series The Biggest Loser. It premiered on January 6, 2009.
The seventh season featured eleven overweight couples competing to lose the largest percentage of their body weight and receive the title of "Biggest Loser", along with a $250,000 grand prize. There was also a $100,000 "at-home" prize for the contestant that lost the most weight at home after being eliminated.
This season was hosted by Alison Sweeney. The trainers for this season was Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels.
In week 14 past winners Ali Vincent and Michelle Aguilar took over hosting duties.
Jillian Michaels told TV Guide magazine that while filming the season she was investigated by the show's producer after contestant Filipe Fa accused her of doping participants by providing them with drugs. "I was so furious, so disgusted. I felt so betrayed", Michaels claimed. The week-long inquiry cleared Michaels.
On May 12, 2009, Helen Phillips was crowned as "The Biggest Loser" and was rewarded $250,000. Jerry Hayes was crowned as the "At-Home Winner" and was rewarded $100,000.
This season holds two records:
•Estella Hayes shares the record for the oldest female competitor in the show's history with Bonnie Griffin and Nancy Rajala, with an age of 63.
