Threshold es un grupo de metal progresivo de origen inglés, formado en la ciudad de Surrey a finales de 1988. Liderada por el guitarrista Karl Groom, la banda ha tenido varios cambios de alineación durante su carrera, siendo Groom el único de los fundadores que aún sigue activo en la banda.

From 1993’s Wounded Land debut onwards, the enduring creative core of guitarist Karl Groom and keyboard maestro Richard West constructed a unique new strain of heavy, progressive music, combining incisive melodies, thought-provoking lyrics and intricate but thunderous arrangements.
3 de feb. de 2010 · Impressive for being a progressive metal band. Since then they have made "Livedelica" (1995), "Extinct Instinct" (1997) and their best album up to date: "Clone" (1998). This new release is a concept album, which re-insured their place as one of the premier bands in this genre.
