Taiz ( Arabic: تَعِزّ, romanized : Taʿizz) is a city in southwestern Yemen. It is located in the Yemeni highlands, near the port city of Mocha on the Red Sea, at an elevation of about 1,400 metres (4,600 ft) above sea level. It is the capital of Taiz Governorate.
Taiz (en árabe: تعز ) es la tercera ciudad más poblada de Yemen, capital de la Gobernación de Taiz. Está ubicada cerca del puerto de Moca sobre el mar Rojo, a una altura de 1400 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Según estimaciones hechas para el año 2014, cuenta con 615 222 habitantes.

Taʿizz, city, southwestern Yemen, in the Yemen Highlands. It is one of the country’s chief urban centres and a former national capital. The Ayyūbid dynasty under Tūrān Shāh, brother of Saladin, which conquered Yemen in 1173–74, made its capital first at Zabīd and then moved it to Taʿizz.
