Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada, on the northeastern end of Lake Ontario. It is at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and at the mouth of the Cataraqui River, the south end of the Rideau Canal.
Kingston was known as Cataraqui just prior to the 1784 arrival of the United Empire Loyalists, of various nationalities, that were expelled from the former British Colonies at the end of the 'American Revolution'. Those various peoples started anew in an unknown area, and created what is now Ontario, as well as other Eastern Canada Provinces.
