Erhard Auer (22 December 1874 – 20 March 1945) was a Bavarian politician, member of the state parliament, first Minister of the Interior of the Free State of Bavaria, and leader of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in Bavaria.
Erhard Auer war ein deutscher sozialdemokratischer Politiker. Er war von 1907 bis 1933 Mitglied der bayerischen Abgeordnetenkammer bzw. des Landtages, nach der Novemberrevolution 1918 bis Februar 1919 erster Innenminister des Freistaats Bayern und von 1918 bis 1933 SPD-Parteivorsitzender in Bayern.
Erhard Auer (1874-1945) was one of the most important politicians in Bavaria as chairman of the Bavarian MSPD (Majority Social Democratic Party of Germany) and Minister of the Interior in Kurt Eisner's cabinet in 1918/19.
Erhard Auer, the illegitimate son of a seamstress, was born in Dommelstadl on 22nd December 1874. At the age of twelve he became a farm labourer. Three years later he helped form a trade union that was immediately suppressed. In 1892 he joined the Social Democrat Party (SDP).

Erhard Auer (* 22. Dezember 1874 in Dommelstadl; † 20. März 1945 in Giengen an der Brenz, Württemberg) war der erste SPD -Abgeodnete im Bayerischen Landtag. In der von ihm verfassten Biografie Auers bezeichnet Markus Schmalzl ihn als „Wegbereiter der Demokratie in Bayern“.
