Currently, over 2,000 youngsters play baseball and softball at this complex. The baseball park has been named in his honor - Francis Bland Community Baseball Parks. Bland's name in Arkansas is synonymous with Babe Ruth Baseball. He has a tremendous love for not only baseball, but for young people.

Francis Armand Bland, CMG (24 August 1882 – 9 April 1967) was an Australian politician. Life and career. Born in Sydney, Bland was educated at state schools at Greigs Flat, Peakhurst and Kogarah and then at the University of Sydney. He became a New South Wales public servant, and then a lecturer at the University of Sydney in 1913.
