[1] [3] The first ground floor featuring an Islamic World Gallery with ancient Islamic artefacts brought from Middle East countries such as Turkey , Egypt , Iran , Morocco and India .
Our History. Sabah (formerly known as British North Borneo) came under British administrative rule in 1881 when Royal Charter gave the North Borneo Chartered Company authority to rule and administer the colony. Some year later, the British north Borneo museum was established in Sandakan.
Sabah Museum houses a number of collection of various artefacts, brassware and ceramics covering the diverse culture of Sabah, natural history, trade history and Islamic civilisation together with an ethnobotanical garden and science and technology centre.
