Sandomierz (pronounced: [sanˈdɔmjɛʂ] ⓘ; Latin: Sandomiria, Yiddish: צויזמר, צוזמיר, romanized: Tsouzmer, Tsoyzmer) is a historic town in south-eastern Poland with 23,863 inhabitants (as of 2017), situated on the Vistula River near its confluence with the San, in the Sandomierz Basin.
Sandomierz (wym. [ s ã n ˈ d ɔ̃ m ʲ j ɛ ʃ]( odsłuchaj), łac. Sandomiria) – miasto w województwie świętokrzyskim, w powiecie sandomierskim, położone nad Wisłą, na siedmiu wzgórzach (stąd nazywane czasem „małym Rzymem”).

The Sandomierz Royal Castle (Polish: Zamek Królewski w Sandomierzu) is a medieval structure in Sandomierz, Poland. It was built on a slope of Vistula River by Casimir III the Great and extended in the 16th century. The original building was blown up in 1656, leaving only the west wing standing.
