  3. 24 de ago. de 2023 · On this day in Tudor history, 24th August 1561, naval officer and administrator Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk, was born. Howard served Elizabeth I as vice-admiral in the 1596 Cadiz expedition and the 1597 voyage to the Azores, and as Constable of the Tower of London.

  6. Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk. Earl of Suffolk is a title which has been created four times in the Peerage of England. The first creation, in tandem with the creation of the title of Earl of Norfolk, came before 1069 in favour of Ralph the Staller; but the title was forfeited by his heir, Ralph de Guader, in 1074.

  7. Thomas Howard, first Earl of Suffolk. His ability and courage caught the attention of Queen Elizabeth I, and he became a great favorite at court. In her letters to him she referred to him as her "good Thomas". He was seriously ill in the autumn of 1597, and was created Baron Howard de Walden by writ of summons.
