Atemwende, (translated into English as Breathturn), is a 1967 German-language poetry collection by Paul Celan. It was originally published in English by Sun & Moon Press in 1995, then republished in 2006 when Sun & Moon Press became Green Integer .

Es ist das Gedicht „Sprich auch du“ aus dem Band Von Schwelle zu Schwelle, der im Jahr 1955 erschienen ist.

Paul Pésaj Antschel o Paul Pésaj Ancel (Chernivtsi, Reino de Rumanía; 23 de noviembre de 1920-París, Francia; 20 de abril de 1970), conocido como Paul Celan, fue un poeta rumano de origen judío y habla alemana, considerado por la crítica internacional como el más grande lírico en alemán de la segunda posguerra.
In spite of sustained productivity foUowing publication of Atemwende ("Breath-turning," 1967), we can identify an increasing tendency - as much consciously as unconsciously controlled - toward brevity, alienation, hermetization, and decontextualization of lyrical language and its metaphoric.
Celan accomplishes this movement into the realm of speech separated from the sense-making of language most fully in the moment of the “breathturn.” He discusses it at length in “The Meridian”: Poetry: that can mean an Atemwende, a breathturn.
