Sir Sidney Montagu (died 25 February 1644) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1593 and 1642. He supported the Royalist cause in the First English Civil War .

MONTAGU, ALGERNON SIDNEY. 1802 - 1880 from England. stipendiary magistrate, was christened in Wimbledon, Surrey on 25 August 1802 the son of a lawyer and legal reformer, Basil Montagu, and his second wife Laura, née Rush. His mother died when he was young.
29 de oct. de 2003 · L&M: "Sidney [1650-1727], the second (and favourite) son, was given what his father called 'a liberal breeding' -- his schooling in Paris 1661-4, a Grand Tour of the Continent 1669-71, and in between a spell in Madrid at the embassy. He served in the army as an ensign and sat for Huntingdon in the first Exclusion Parliament.
