Hace 2 días · It was held by the Pakingtons, his descendants, until it was bought in 1770 by Sir John Russell, who held the manor of Chequers in Ellesborough. (fn. 68) The Pakingtons claimed the paramount lordship in Ellesborough in the 18th century, (fn. 69) but this claim was abandoned when a farm in the parish was bought of the Pakingtons by the Russell family.
