Considerado uno de los poetas españoles más brillantes del siglo XX, la obra de Lorca obtuvo un gran reconocimiento ya en su época, pero el estallido de la Guerra Civil española en 1936 y, al parecer, una venganza entre familias, acabó con la vida del poeta, que murió fusilado.
