William Shakespeare se cree que nació el 23 de abril de 1564 del calendario juliano en Stratfordon Avon. Respecto al nacimiento del escritor, tan solo se conserva un documento de bautismo de la iglesia de Stratford-upon-Avon (centro de Inglaterra) que atestigua que el 26 de abril de 1564 se registró un Guilielmus Johannes Shakespeare.
