In a large multicenter, prospective cohort study conducted in France, Belgium, and Switzerland, including data from 149 ICUs, and consisting of a total of 4,244 patients, showed that about 80% of patients admitted in ICU received IMV at some point during their ICU stay (most of the patient had Acute Respiratory Failure).
