17 de ene. de 2023 · The Kennedy family established the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation in 1947 and funded the construction of the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Memorial Hall at Boston College. However, it is now a part of Campion Hall and houses the college’s Lynch School of Education.

Lt. Joe Kennedy was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross and the Air Medal (Lt. Willy likewise was awarded the Navy Cross), and in 1946 a destroyer, the USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr (No. 850), was launched (decomissioned 1973) as the Navy's tribute to a gallant officer.
