Lucia Moholy’s iconic photographs document the architecture, products and influential people of the Bauhaus, the German school of architecture, design and applied arts. After marrying in 1921, Lucia moved with her then husband, Làszló Moholy-Nagy, to Weimar in Germany where he began his professorship while Lucia undertook photography training.
Moholy-Nagy became part of the Russian Avant-Garde in Odessa as a painter in 1918. From 1919 to 1920 he lived in Vienna, where he painted, wrote and associated with the Dadaists. He then moved to Berlin in 1920 where he met Lucia Moholy, whom he married the following year. In 1922, he and Lucia began working with photograms.

28 de sept. de 2022 · In the mid-1940s, Lucia Moholy was browsing through a 1938 MoMA catalogue when she came across some images that she had made during her time at the Bauhaus. She was surprised to see them, as Walter Gropius – the celebrated architect and founder of Bauhaus – had told her they were all destroyed in an air raid during World War II.
