Participation on Saint Monica’s athletic teams is not a right of all students, but rather a privilege afforded to selected individuals who possess the ability, attitude, academic standing, disposition, cooperative spirit and desire to represent the student body and school community in a manner that reflects favorably upon the reputation of Saint Monica Preparatory.

This is an exciting time for St. Monica’s largest ministry: the former St. Monica Elementary School (founded in 1930) and St. Monica High School (founded in 1937) are consolidating into Saint Monica Preparatory, a TK-12 school. This change is the outcome of a strategic planning process that began in the fall of 2020.
Saint Monica Preparatory Lower School’s notable faculty and staff are impressively qualified and dedicated. Our principal holds an Ed.D. in Catholic School Leadership for Social Justice. Every teacher possesses a graduate degree in a specialized field of education in addition to a State Teacher’s Credential and an Archdiocesan Certificate to teach Religion.
Saint Monica Preparatory offers 12 interscholastic sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cheering, Cross Country, Flag Football, Football, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track and Field and Volleyball. Saint Monica Preparatory is ranked as one of the top 20% of private schools in California for most sports offered.
Saint Monica Preparatory Football was honored this week by the Santa Monica City Council, lighting up City Hall and Pacific Park at the Pier green and gold for its 2023 CIF Southern Section Championship win.
