Margaret Beaufort (born May 31, 1443—died June 29, 1509) was the mother of King Henry VII (reigned 1485–1509) of England and founder of St. John’s and Christ’s colleges, Cambridge. Margaret was the daughter and heir of John Beaufort, 1st Duke of Somerset, and great-granddaughter of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster (a son of King Edward III).

Marguerite Beaufort ( 31 mai 1443 – 29 juin 1509) est la fille de Jean Beaufort et de Marguerite Beauchamp (morte en 1482) et la nièce d' Edmond Beaufort, l'un des derniers commandants anglais de la guerre de Cent Ans. Elle est la mère du futur Henri VII d' Angleterre, son unique enfant.

Her maternal grandparents were Richard de Beauchamp, 13th Earl of Warwick and his first wife Elizabeth Beauchamp, 4th Baroness Lisle. Elizabeth was daughter of Thomas de Berkeley, 5th Baron Berkeley and , becoming the main heiress of her mother.
