Nightclubs in the Netherlands organise special events especially during Koningsnacht (King’s Night). Many young people celebrate in the streets and attend parties on King’s Night as well as on King’s Day.
Queen’s Day, known as ‘Koninginnedag,’ is celebrated with great fervor in Amsterdam through a night and day carnival-like event at the end of April. The celebrations are so grand that it looks like the whole city is one giant party. Shops, individuals, and tourists join in the festivities. It’s a great tourist event too!

King’s Day (not Kingsday) is pretty much like Queen’s Day used to be. (Though you’d be surprised how many Dutch people still say Koninginnedag instead of Koningsdag).

Bells sound, bands play, children perform, deals are made, bargains are found, drinks are consumed, and above all, love, laughter and smiles abound. For a nation often divided, Queen’s Day is the great equalizer.
