Uppföljaren Lights in the Night var en skiva i samma utforskande anda. Musiken beskrevs av en recensent som " dansmusik med slagverk , post- disco men pre- house ". Genom att vägra sätta samman ett band och ge sig ut på turné (duons arbetsschema som producenter förhindrade detta), inte synas på reklambilder eller ställa upp på intervjuer skapades en kult .
26 de jul. de 2006 · I mean that. It was 1980 and I was 14, listening to the Rock and Roll Alternative, a radio show George Gimarc had on KZEW in Dallas. I was sprawled out on the hood of my mom's car on a hot summer night, the stars above me blazing. The song "Lights in the Night" came on the portable radio we had and it was then I knew music could save your soul.

Flash and the Pan's second album, Lights in the Night, released in early 1980, peaked at No. 1 on the Swedish Albums Chart. "Waiting for a Train", the lead single from their third album, Headlines, reached number seven on the UK Singles Chart in 1983.
