Eastwick is an American fantasy comedy-drama television series based on John Updike's 1984 novel The Witches of Eastwick which aired on ABC from September 23 until December 30, 2009. The series was developed by Maggie Friedman , and starred Paul Gross as the infamous Darryl Van Horne, alongside Jaime Ray Newman , Lindsay Price , and Rebecca Romijn as the eponymous witches.
I might still try the Widows of Eastwick someday because it was $1 at the used bookstore, and it might be interesting to see how/if Updike has changed almost 25 years later. around-the-usa bedside location-usa-ri
The three divorcées—Alexandra, Jane, and Sukie—have left town, remarried, and become widows. They cope with their grief and solitude as widows do: they travel the world, to such foreign lands as Canada, Egypt, and China, and renew old acquaintance. Why not, Sukie and Jane ask Alexandra, go back to Eastwick for the summer?
1 de ene. de 2008 · The Widows has more depth & subtlety, as if the characters were real people who have stretched and warped with the passage of time. There are painful truths here, too, for the balance of nature reasserts itself, as it will, in the long-delayed results of the witches' 1970's tinkering with fate.
