  3. 3 de nov. de 2011 · I don't care what anybody else says. The Lovin' Spoonful was among the best bands of the sixties. Not just because of the incredibly prolific John Sebastian (yes he could be overly sugary, but he always made me believe he meant every word, if you listen, you can hear him smiling) but the under appreciated brilliance of Zalman Yanovsky on guitar.

With only five originals on the band's debut release, Do You Believe in Magic, Daydream featured much more songwriting by Lovin' Spoonful co-founder singer and vocalist John Sebastian, who either wrote or co-wrote all but one of the songs on this release. Kama Sutra Records issued Daydream in the United States in March 1966.

Mostly self-taught, he began his musical career playing folk music coffee houses in Toronto. He lived on a kibbutz in Israel for a short time before returning to Canada.
